This is the driver and software download page for two EEPROM / EPROM programmers: the ART Programming Systems EPP-4 and the MQP Electronics Ltd MQP200.

The MQP200 PROMDRIVER package is documented for MS-DOS use, with serial or parallel communications depending on the programmer option fitted, and a large device database covering more than 900 memory devices.

The ART EPP-4 was around in the time of Maplin Electronics, from which the programmer was bought for around £215 way back in 1989. After looking high and low for the most updated software, it turned out to be sitting in the software collection all along.

Now it is time to put both programmers' software up so people can continue to download it, use it with suitable old machines, and keep useful hardware alive.

ART EPP-4 software version 9.40 is the version hosted here. It was the final release published by ART Programming Systems B.V. before the company closed, and it resolves the bugs present in earlier EPP-4 software releases. If you still have an older EPP-4 version installed, uninstall it first and install version 9.40 in its place.

  • IC What these programmers do They read, write, verify and test memory chips such as EPROMs, EEPROMs, PROMs and older FLASH devices. These chips often hold firmware for vintage computers, arcade boards, test equipment, industrial controllers and embedded hardware.
  • E4 ART EPP-4 The ART EPP-4 is a universal memory programmer with 32-pin ZIF sockets, USB PC operation and a small standalone interface. It was built for development, servicing, repair work and hobby electronics where reliable chip programming still matters.
  • 9.4 EPP-4 software version 9.40 This archive includes EPP-4 software version 9.40, the final release from ART Programming Systems B.V. before the company closed, along with the installer, USB driver files, both bundled manuals and utility files for Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP. If an earlier EPP-4 version is already installed, uninstall it before installing version 9.40. Software sourced from artbv.nl, the official ART Programming Systems B.V. website (Netherlands).
  • 27 Supported chip families The EPP-4 handles EPROM (27C64–27C080), EEPROM (28C256–28C040) and Flash (29F010–29F040, 39SF512–39SF040 and related parts). Default mode is C+P+V — blank check, program, then verify — at VPP 12.70V with a Q-100µS algorithm pulse.
  • MQ MQP200 / PROMDRIVER The MQP Electronics MQP200 is a DOS-era programmer. The PROMDRIVER database covers around 60 manufacturers and more than 900 memory devices, including many obscure legacy parts.
  • ! Use with care These are legacy tools for old hardware and old operating systems. Treat the downloads as preservation files: use a suitable vintage PC, isolated test machine or virtual machine rather than a modern daily-use computer.
